Thermocheck® Breast Thermography uses state of the art technology which scans the breasts using an infrared camera to produce a “thermogram”. The Thermocheck® system detects any abnormal heat and vascular patterns that can indicate infection, inflammation or a more sinister emerging problem in the breast.
Studies show that a serially abnormal thermogram indicates up to 40% greater risk of breast cancer over a 5-year period. These heat and vascular changes can occur between 6 and 10 years before a tumour is large enough to see on a mammogram. Therefore, detecting this heat can enable earlier intervention and reduction of future risk.
Because Thermocheck® tracks functional and vascular changes rather than physical structure, it's designed to complement your regular mammogram, not replace it — a mammogram can typically only detect a mass once it's already grown large enough to be seen.
Some studies report thermography achieving up to 90% sensitivity when properly conducted, compared with around 76% for other screening techniques — and thermography has been cleared by the U.S. FDA for use as an adjunctive breast cancer screening tool alongside mammography.

We'll confirm your appointment with important preparation guidelines to follow beforehand — following these carefully helps ensure an accurate scan.
Arrive for your scan and fill in our Thermocheck® forms (also available in advance). These ask about your medical history and any medications or supplements — kept strictly private and confidential. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
Your scan takes place in our dedicated room with a female technician. The room is cooled to around 18°C for accuracy — we take an initial set of images, followed by a 10-minute cooling period, during which your technician explains the process and answers any questions.
Your Thermocheck® report is prepared within 5 working days and emailed to you, reviewed by a Thermocheck-qualified doctor. It gives you a score for each breast with your temperature measurements, clear explanatory text, and your recommended next steps.
After your scan, you will be sent your Thermocheck® report, clarifying the scores for each breast and recommended review time. Please be advised that your results will always be emailed to you, and if you would like to discuss them with the doctor, we can book you for a Breast Health Consultation with the doctor.
As a guide: normal results are typically followed up with an annual scan, borderline results with a 6-month follow-up, and any flagged results with closer monitoring at 6 months — your report will confirm exactly what's recommended for you.
A Thermocheck® scan is 199€, including IVA. An optional Breast Health Consultation with the doctor to discuss your results is available for 36€, including IVA.
